Everwilde, Virginia’s premier country band was originally formed by lead singer, Daniel Nicholls 2007. Performing acoustic shows throughout the Richmond Metro area for a few years while searching for a full band to push what would soon be a household name. The band lineup consists of well-established musicians that are no stranger to the music industry.
Influenced by his father who was also a musician, Daniel Nicholls grew up in a simple country lifestyle and started his interest in music at a very early age. With traditional country guiding his way, Daniel eventually found his voice in church. ”I felt that right from the start I had a special gift for music that was given to me,” said Nicholls. “For me, playing music is a way to relieve stress, help get things off my mind, touch other people and make people feel good. That’s the whole point of music anyway I think.” Daniel gained experience playing guitar and singing with multiple musicians and bands over the years, while sharpening his writing talents for what would ultimately be part of the creation of Everwilde.
Steve Cantrell (keyboard/organ/vocalist) has had the pleasure to play with a lot of talented musicians for over 50 years! His fondest memories are the times spent performing for our military troops during the Vietnam War.
Drummer Steve Payne sets the rhythm section perfectly with his rocker background and knowledge. Also and established sound engineer and singer, Steve Payne has fit in perfect with group.
Smokin’ guitar player Paul Lusk hails from the great state of Texas. Growing up with a mix of classic country and old rock and roll from his mother’s side and hard rock and early metal from his dad’s side of the vinyl collection. A true fan American music regardless of genre. Besides guitar, Lusk plays pedal steel, mandolin, saxophone, harmonica, bass and accordion.
Everwilde has had the opportunity to perform at such festivals like the Dominion River Rock Festival, the Bon Secours “Music on the Avenues” , the Manassas Fall Jubilee, and the Alexandria King Street Art Festival.
Everwilde was selected for two years in a row to be a Top 5 Finalist in the Snag A Job Hourly Gig Contest to win a chance of opening for a national act at Innsbrook for the Innsbrook After Hours Concert Series. Everwilde was the only band in the NATION to be honored with a Top 5 nomination two years in row. With over 1500 entries in the competition we feel this has become a great opportunity for us to be seen and heard.
In 2013 Everwilde was featured in the Chesterfield Observer Newspaper and also named as one of Richmond’s Top Country Bands by Style Weekly! Everwilde even made it on TV a few times with appearances on the CBS 6 Virginia This Morning Show.
The Everwilde band performs originals whose sound can be described as pure country, influenced by Southern Rock and Blues. With common interests and solid principles, complimented by a realistic and “down home” writing approach; Everwilde has developed a unique sound that is quickly becoming identifiable in the industry.
